Planning for what you're going to wear for any holiday is so stressful. You never know what the dress code is or you're turn between looking great or being comfortable. When it comes to fashion, I like to dabble between comfort and style. But since my Christmas is usually at home with no more then 15 people I always choose a "fancy outfit" to take pictures and a casual one to eat!
This year I have a few parties to go to between my boyfriend's company holiday party, spending time with my family, spending time with his family, and celebrating in Paris with one of my girlfriends a few weeks early.
No matter the dress code, I want to give y'all some ideas for you all to pick something up while you're out Christmas shopping. The great things about my holiday outfit inspirations is that I include items you can wear for other occasions as well.
If you're on a budget, there is nothing more stressful then buying an outfit you know you're only going to use once. I promise I want y'all to get the biggest bang for your buck and that means buying clothes that you can get your use out of them. So let's start planning your Christmas outfits so we can get into New Year's Eve a few weeks later!
LOOK #1
This first look is for all my girls that love to dress up BUT.... with minimal effort! If you don't know by now, I am a leather pants connoisseur. They are perfect for literally any occasion and this color from Abercrombie is sooo sooo delicious!
Pair this with any knit chunky sweater you have in your closet or the one below from Express and you'll look put together to eat Christmas dinner in the living room! As for the shoes, you can literally pair any sneaker, boot or heel and it'll look great but these snakeskin ones would totally tie this look together! Since you're wearing pretty neutral solid colors, you can make your shoes the statement piece.
LOOK #2
Here is another dressier option for those that are feeling more of the "I want to dress up, look cute, and take pictures" look. Which for the holidays, I think many of you are like that!
I'm obsessed with stockings with skirts during the winter time so this look is perfect for those of you who share my love! This skirt is great for hugging all the right places and if you pair it with a red color bodysuit, it's a real easy outfit you don't have to think about. I added two options for the bodysuit from two different price points. I'm obsessed with Lovers and Friends one because of the chest cut out!
Now with all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals out there, you're sure to find great deals on pretty much everything you're looking for. For me, I've been gazing Macy's website for weeks now. I never knew how great their shoe selection is until I ordered a few pairs over the course of a week. These black calf boots are great and can be used not only for this outfit! Add a pair of Target stockings (I love the printed ones!) and you're Christmas look will be complete!
LOOK #3
Of course I had to include a dress look for the holidays! I'm so glad I was able to this particular one from TopShop! I've been eyeing a similar one from Norma Kamali on Revolve, but I did not want to splurge the $200 for it.
I know its super simple but you can dress it up with a waist belt to give you more of a snatched look around the waist area. I linked below two different options, a chain belt if you want to look more posh and elegant and a red one to have a little festive look to you.
Pair this with the boots from Look #2 and you'll have a Christmas look for that work holiday party or any party for that matter.
LOOK #4
If you're feeling festive this look is for you! This top from Lulus screams party! Sequins and that forest green color are going to make you look like a Christmas tree. Add the emerald pumps or red if you think it will be to much green for you and your favorite black trousers.
The great thing about this look is that the focal point is going to be the top, with the cowl back and the sequins. So with four different color options, you can totally make this outfit your own!
LOOK #5
My last look is great for my casual girls. Jeans and a turtleneck. Thats really it! I'm sure y'all have those staples in your closet already but I linked my favorites below.
All you have to do to elevate that look is pop on a jacket. A tweed jacket would be ideal but a blazer works just as great! These two from J.Crew are fabulous and can honestly be worn outside of the Christmas season. The plaid green one is neutral enough for my girls that aren't big on color. The red is a bit out there but the cut of it is to die for, makes me thing for the Chanel tweed jackets!
If you're not into heels, no biggy! Pop on a pair of white sneakers and it would look just as great! But for me, heels are party of my identity 😉
Final thoughts...
I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving if you're based in the States and are looking forward to Christmas! I love giving y'all outfit inspirations especially for Christmas looks! When it comes to the holidays or any special occasions for that matter, I start outfit planning weeks and sometimes months ahead.
If you guys are loving these as much as I am, the next and last one for this year is going to be New Year's Eve looks and I cannot wait! I'm on my way to Paris as we speak so be prepared for Paris travel content and shopping in the coming weeks!
