There is nothing better than finding YOUR perfect scent in a perfume. You know, the kind you always wear and people always stop to ask what you have on. There is no better compliment then someone saying you smell good, that is the truth! But finding a scent you love can be a task in itself, there are so many great high quality perfumes for women.
It took me years to finally stray away from my favorite Japanese Cherry Blossom and Cucumber Melon from Bath and Body Works! I think after years of searching I’ve found some great brands under $150 that are worth snagging! The best part they is they last so long even if you purchase a regular sized bottle. These brands are not only worn by myself but by my girlfriends as well so they are totally a hit! Be sure to check them out the next time you are out shopping!
SAINT LAURENT BLACK OPIUM
This was the first purchase at the start of my perfume collection! So I guess you can call it an OG? Maybe? I first was so inclined to snag this when I heard Naz Kavari talking about it in her YouTube channel years ago. The scents are so mature but still subtle enough to be worn on anyone no matter your age bracket is and no matter the occasion. Meaning, wear it whenever the heck you want!
YSL has a ton of different versions of their Black Opium, but I am a committed fan. If I find a scent I love, I stick with. Of course I’ll always be on the hunt for new scents, but this list is about perfumes that can be your go to for any day of the year. That is what I am here to give you!
CHRISTIAN DIOR MISS DIOR
I first became a Miss Dior girl last Christmas. I was out doing some last minute shopping and luckily found myself staring straight at a perfume wall. During my slow times when I worked at Barney’s, I would make my way to the beauty counter and smell all these designer fragrances. Unfortunately, I cannot do that anymore so I take any opportunity when I’m at the mall to find a new scent!
You might think Dior scents are targeted more towards an older more mature women, but it’s not the case for this one. With scents of florals you get a bit of sweet and spicy from just one spray. Its the perfect combination for any women in their 20s and 30s trying to find a scent that still offers them the sweetness of flowers but with notes of spice.
CAROLINA HERRERA GOOD GIRL
My best friend put me on this one, well actually both my best friends! My first girlfriend always had this beautiful bottle in her car whenever we would go out, along with her always smelling great! She then proceeded to convince my other friend to purchase it, and they’ve been obsessed! Finally I decided to take the plunge and just buy it.
I’ll be honest, I kind of just wanted it because the bottle was so gorgeous. The smell was an added bonus! But after wearing it a few times I fell in love! The scents are perfect for me . The only thing I will say is that I only wear it on date nights and when I have special events. Only because I do not want to waste it! But a perfect snag nonetheless!
I’ve had the smaller sized bottle for about six months now and I think I am barley half way through it. It had scents of jasmine and coffee bean in it, so it has a bit of a stronger smell. I would say out of all the options on this list, this one lasts the longest and smells the strongest. Trust me, the minute I walk in the room I always get compliments. Even before I give anyone a hug!
MARC JACOBS DAISY
I got this as a set during the holidays, but I can’t find a set that offers the largest size, ugh! Nonetheless this is the perfect girly scent for literally everyone at any age! Marc Jacobs has been coming out with various versions of their Daisy scent: Daily Dream, Daisy Spring, Daisy Love and so many more!
I think the best thing about this particular scent from Marc Jacobs is its versatility. I got my mom hooked on this, to the point where she would use mine every time she went out. I had to convince her to buy her own haha! Along with the bottle being super girly and pretty you will definitely always find yourself reaching for this whenever you’re getting ready to go out.
Its makes the perfect and safest Christmas and Birthday gift for either a niece, sister, girlfriend, grandma, friend. Basically whoever!
NEST GOLDEN NECTAR
This is my my most recent purchase, but have been eyeing it for months! I have never heard of this brand but after some research they I discovered they had their start in 2008 in the home fragrance sector. They later branched out to fine fragrances in 2013.
The scent I picked up a few weeks ago was Golden Nectar, which is a flora scent with hints of vanilla. If you don’t know by now I am a floras girl when it comes to my perfume! Always have been and don’t think I’ll ever stray away from it. The thing I like about this scent is the slight smell of vanilla you get. Some people do not like floras because it isn’t strong enough or isn’t feminine enough. Golden nectar is great for those that want something extra but not to over powering. It can work as an evening or daily perfume which is great!
The two alternatives I linked below and also great alternatives for those that aren’t fans of vanilla. Indigo is more of a woodsy scent with a tad hint of citrus fruits. Wild poppy is another scent with a more powerful scents of fruit if you like that type of smell. Nonetheless Nest is the perfect brand for those trying to discover what type of scents they like to wear or if you’re an avid perfume wear-er looking for something new for your collection.
