Hello again! I hope y’all are loving my latest HOW TO STYLE A BLAZER blog. I have so many styling ideas that I want to give you guys, especially with the holiday season coming up, this one was just the tip of the iceberg! Be prepared for the coming weeks and all the new content coming out. In this post we’ll be talking all things Ulta!
That being said, it’s been a long time since I have come out with a beauty blog for y’all. As you know I’m a fashion girl through and through but this website is all about fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. Plus I love beauty just as much as fashion!
Lately I’ve been loving Ulta since one of their locations is right next to my house and my boyfriend’s job so it’s tempting to just head on over and shop whenever I get done early with work or I just need an excuse to spend money haha!
Unlike my Sephora Favorites blog, this Ulta one is going to be a bit different. Of course I have my favorite make-up products but I wanted to tell you guys about some of my favorites that are not make-up related. These are items I have been using for well over a year and are religious pickups for me whenever I go in store to shop. I guarantee there is at least one product you will try and like if you haven’t been using it already. So let’s get into it!
SCHICK RAZORS
Starting off this is my favorite face shaver.
I will say I was skeptical of shaving my face a few years back but this is my saving grace whenever I have absolutely no time to get dermaplaning done professionally.
This also is perfect every time I need to shave some sparse eyebrow hairs that my tweezers can’t reach and to shave my nose hairs (TMI I know!)
I love that these come in a pack of 3 since. They last so long and the best thing is that they have two different types of shavers, the flat end and the one with the ridges. Definitely worth having in your makeup bag for quick last minute touch ups.
TREE HUT SHEA SCRUB
My sister but me on this when she was pregnant the first time around and swore it gave her the softest skin yet! At the time, I was rolling on a budget since I was in college and barley had enough money to make rent along with my other bills. So when I visited her when I came down to California she made me try it and surprisingly enough she was right! It’s like a miracle jar!
What I love about it is that the amount of product you get is substantial and you only need to buy it once every 2-3 months, it can probably go longer! As you probably heard, you should try to exfoliate at least once a week to remove any dead skin and allow for new skin to grow.
For me, I tend to do a full shower meaning hair wash, exfoliate, shave at least 2 times a week. So I’ll reach for this usually after I shave but you can use it either before or after, which ever your comfortable with. You’ll get smooth skin either which way!
My favorites are the Coco Colada and Watermelon although they have a bunch to choose from. I just saw they have a Pumpkin Spice one for the fall if that’s what you like!
ECO TOOLS BODY BRUSH
Now this one kind of goes hand and hand with the Tree Hut Shea Scrub mentioned about. I picked this up after a few months of me using the scrub because a friend of mine had been talking about it and I thought “Why not?”
A dry brush is another one of my favorite ways to exfoliate. It’s supposed to help break up cellulite because of the bristles. Not sure how true this is but I love it for smooth skin. I will say that dry brushing feels a bit funny on your skin and can feel a bit harsh but I promise it’s worth it.
My process is usually dry brush my whole body before I jump in the shower, then shave, then exfoliate with the Tree Hut Scrub and you’re skin feels like butter! My friend uses the brush with her scrub which you can totally do but I use a loofah with the scrub. Either way you’ll get the same result. I just love the extra step of dry brushing, I promise you’ll notice the difference!
Also, a need to mention, I linked the round brush since Ulta unfortunately only has this that one on their website. Either one works, I’ve tried them both, totally your preference!
BONDI SANDS SELF TAN
This is the first and only tanner I have ever used! They were all over Instagram being promoted by influencers and thought “let’s try it!” I had always wanted to try tanning, especially during the winter when I lose my summer tan.
Before you were only able to order online and I am so happy Ulta sells it because I get my points every time I buy! I tend to flip between two types, the original and the quick tan but the color I that works best is medium or if I want a little extra color I use the dark but I don’t leave it on for the full time.
Total side note but my local Ulta has them on sale right now! Such a steal if you’re using it weekly!
COOLA SUNSCREEN
My aunt had gave this to me off of her birch box subscription I believe. Don’t quote me haha! But one of my biggest struggles is that wearing makeup and reapplying sunscreen is a bit difficult. I love my SuperGoop Glow Screen and use it every day but you’re supposed to apply sunscreen every half hour to an hour for optimal protection. You’re girl isn’t try to have her face unprotected.
To me, I view this as a setting spray, sunscreen, and face refresh all in one. It’s always with me and I reapply every time I need a little extra help. I might go overboard but when I tell you I am obsessed, it’s because I am! It was with me the entire summer and on vacation where I had it in my bag and sprayed it on my face, neck, shoulders and chest. It beats carrying around a big bottle of sunscreen for sure!
SILICON COVERUPS
Last but certainly not least, on to one of my favorite favorite products on this list! I first heard of these from IluvSarahii on Instagram and I had to try. During the summer I am obsessed with backless and low cut tops and normally I would go braless. But there are some occasions were I need to be more conservative, such as around family or my boyfriend’s business friends.
So these little babies come in hand so much! They are less than $15 and last SOOO LONG! I had my first pair for months before I had to throw them away and finally get a new pair. I find that the shade that works best for me is medium and I’ve never had a problem with them.
I hope y’all loved hearing about my little Ulta beauty secrets I’ve been hiding for a few years now! I’m sure you can definitely find something worth including in your beauty regime. I tried to make everything affordable (under $40) and the best thing about these products is that you only have to repurchase them every few months! So you’re definitely getting a major bang for your buck!
I’ll be sure to see you on the next blog! Until then!
