There are so many women that love the colder seasons. They anticipate their last ho-ra of summer because that means the cold is coming! The crisp fall leaves changing colors, pumpkin patches, the first snow fall, and so much more! I mean whats not to love?!
I am typically not a fan of the colder seasons (I’m a summer girl at heart!) but I love the fashion! Now that I live in between California and Arizona, I do not really get to enjoy the fall and winter since we have perfect weather year round! But when I lived in NYC, I took full advantage of experiencing all the different seasons!
Coats, jackets, trenches, shakets, you name it I had it! I think having a good quality coat is essential when you live in colder areas and splurging for one that is going to last you years is worth every penny in my book. I have been shopping around for some good quality coats and jackets to purchase for this year with all the travel I have coming up and have came across some beautiful ones that I thought I would share.
AVEC LES FILLES FAUX SHEARLING BIKER JACKET
I first heard of this brand a few years ago when I was on the hunt for for a good quality winter coat. They are sold at Macy’s which is great when when they have sales, you can score a coat for less than retail! When looking for a new coat this season I actually was shopping on their actual site and found this cute little number for under $200. I love the different color browns that are incorporated in this color, the shearling is the perfect camel color brown and the “carbon” color that consumes the entirety of the jacket is neutral to wear with as an everyday jacket.
CLUB MONACO DAYLINA COAT
I promise I am not being biased when I say this coat is the best out there! If you didn’t know, Club Monaco is a Ralph Lauren brand, think of them as their twin sister. If you don’t know I worked at Club when I first moved to the city and made quite a few purchases during my time there. One of my favorite being the Daylina coat! It is heavy duty and so sophisticated that it takes any outfit to the next level. When I lived in the city I wore this pretty much everyday, and if it was a colder day (think 30 degrees!) I would pop on a hoodie under this coat and be good to go! Definitely a bit more pricier than any of the other options but you will have this for years to come (I’m going on 4 years with mine!).
ISABEL MARANT ETOILE WOOL COAT
Now this item is more for fall or for my girls that live in warmer temperatures since it isn’t really meant to keep you warm (in a sense..). Here me out, when I worked at Barneys this jacket would FLY off the rack… I mean FLY! Isabel Marant usually makes a shorter and longer version but I personally believe the longer version is the best route to go. Since it is wool, it does provide some warmth but would not recommend wear this in temperatures less then 60 degrees.
The plaid design and the color combo is the perfect layering accessory to finish off any look. I would pair this with any casual look, like a sweats look with some Jordans or some jeans and riding boots for a weekend brunch with friends!
ALL SAINTS LEATHER BIKER JACKET
Another of my favorite brands, All Saints! They have the best leather/biker jackets I have ever seen. Not only that but if you’ve ever walked by or went into a store you might have notice 80% of their clothing is black. I like to think of this store as a mixture of the skater girl slash punk rock slash cool girl store. It definitely is not for everyone but if you’re looking for a good quality leather jacket, you should def look here first. The great thing is also that the have annual sales and you can find some for a really great price!
H & M PUFFER JACKET
Puffer jackets have been everywhere the past year and I do not for-see them going out of style anytime soon. This cropped style puffer is the perfect piece to throw on when you’re in a hurry and don’t want to think to much about an outfit. H & M offers four beautiful different colors, but of course you know I’m a neutrals girl so I have to go with the cream color one!
PRETTY LITTLE THING TRENCH COAT
Another staple that has been taking the internet by storm, the classic trench! I love a plain brown trench, don’t get me wrong, but at times if gives me Inspector Gadget vides (if you know you know!). So I think this one found on ASOS takes on the classic trench so well, yet offering up a bit of edgy-ness with the pu leather. The PU leather contrast on the camel color is something very unique and needs to be in everyone’s closet as a transition piece from summer to fall and winter to spring.
LEVIS TRUCKER JACKET
I have been wearing jean jackets since middle school! If you ask anyone, it has been a staple in my closet and it is my go to for any look. I probably have 5 or 6 versions of a denim jackets in my wardrobe at the moment and that is me being modest (if that tells you anything). Half of those jackets being from Levis to! So when I came across this beaut with a shearling interior I knew I had to let y’all know! Levis lasts forever if you didn’t already know, but their jackets last even longer if thats even possible haha… But if you’re obsessed with denim jackets like I am, this particular one is the one to have. You also have the option of two other color schemes!
BLACKNYC FAUX LEATHER VEST
I probably said this about every coat mentioned in this blog but I mean it… This is such a gorgeous unique piece for any one to wear, even men! It’s another piece for those “warmer” colder days. You can just throw on a turtle neck or crew neck long sleeve, put your hair up in a pony tail, add some hoop earrings and you look like you spent hours on an outfit.
PRINCESS POLLY TEDDY COAT
Teddy coats are like a blanket on the go! They are the comfiest piece of clothing you’ll ever wear and if you get cold easily, you need one in your life! This off white, ivory color one from Princess Polly is neutral heaven and will work for any outfit. Although I will say I would grab this and style it with leggings and sweats, particularly for a road trip or airport look.
SHOW ME YOUR MUMU CORDUROY COAT
Faux fur is the next best thing since slice bread, possibly haha! But honestly, I’ve been loving faux fur anything and it is another material that has came back and is here to stay. So this coat is a mixture of modern and retro with the corduroy and feather like fur lining. This isn’t exactly the best coat to keep you warm in the fall and winter season, but if you live in areas like California, you can get away wearing this as a coat and jacket. 60 degrees is our version of cold, so wearing this as a statement piece, on your way to dinner would be perfectly ok!
